My name is Asher (AKA Berel). I have loved baking and cooking since before I can remember, and it is something that I am really passionate about. In the past few years, I have gotten into sourdough baking, and I would bake every weekend for family and friends. But then one day I thought “what if I turn this into a business?” I started doing some research and saving up, and then Berel’s Bakery was born!
Berel’s Bakery is a small local bakery based in Caulfield South. It is run and owned by Asher Grosberg (AKA Berel). Berel’s Bakery specialises in Sourdough products but also has a sweet menu.
The name “Berel’s Bakery” comes from my Hebrew middle name, which was named after my great grandfather. People started calling me Berel at school and it just stuck. When I was looking into opening a bakery, I thought it was perfect because it was catchy and it had meaning. That’s why I named my bakery “Berel’s Bakery”.
